LULAC Youth began a project to prepare Christmas stockings full of gifts for low income kids with their advisors Vince Luna, Eirasema Weaver and Riana Guitierrez. They are planning to deliver them to the farmworker housing at the Villa Luna Apartments. They approached Friends of the Library to see if we could include some books in the stockings. We didn't have enough of the books in the right age groups, so we approached Nora Conte, of the San Benito County Free Library. Ms. Conte said that we could have new books for the outreach project, as well as a color/activity book "A Visit to the Library". She added that the Downtown Association was also contributing goodie bags.
