Library Closed Until Further Notice

San Benito County Free Library Closed until further notice

In accordance with California State Stay at Home Orders, the San Benito County Free Library will be closed until further notice as a precaution to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community. This closure is necessary to encourage social distancing and to protect both Library patrons and staff.

All Library programs and events as well as community use of the meeting room (Barbara Room), book sales, and acceptance of book donations are postponed until further notice. Book drops are now closed as materials can carry viruses for several days; patrons are encouraged to keep items until the Library reopens. The Library will automatically extend due dates on all materials. Any overdue fines incurred during the Library closure will be waived.

Patrons are encouraged to use library services available online:

If you don’t already have a San Benito County Free Library card, register here and a Library staff member will contact you with your barcode number within 24 hours so that you may utilize our online resources.

Although the Library may be closed, Library staff are still here to serve you! We are still answering phones and emails – for Library account information, help with accessing online resources, research questions, or help with any other Library services, please call us at (831) 636-4107, email us at library@cosb.us, or chat with us Monday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm or Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm.
